Dermal Fillers
It is possible to have fewer wrinkles around the mouth after only one short office visit through the use of dermal fillers! These materials are injected into the line or wrinkle through a delicate needle. The line is immediately plumped out to give the area a more youthful appearance. A consultation is necessary for your skincare professional to evaluate what your exact area of concern is and what material will best correct the problem. Correction takes only about an hour and there is minimal down time involved. Most products last about 6 months to a year as they are gradually reabsorbed into the skin. Juvéderm Ultra XC and Restylane-L
Juvederm and Restylane are used to smooth wrinkles and folds, or give your mouth a fuller, more sensuous form without using a foreign element. These products give shape with the body's own natural material called hyaluronic acid. These dermal fillers are made the same way from hyaluronic acid, but the difference is in the gel particle size. They are now offered pre-mixed with lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. The product is injected just under the skin, and binds with water in the tissue to lift and give new fullness. These products contain no animal proteins, and have very few side-effects. Clients taking Advil or other NSAIDS may experience injection site bruising and swelling that can last a couple days.
Belotero
Used for years in Europe, Belotero is a unique dermal filler that actually integrates into your own tissue, making it a flawless way to fill in shallow lines and wrinkles on your face. This product has recently been approved for use in the United States, and works well even in the finest lines around the mouth.
Radiesse
Radiesse reduces wrinkles by working to replenish your skin's lost volume. Upon injection, Radiesse Volumizing Filler immediately provides that volume, diminishing the signs of aging due to the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. Radiesse is unique because it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. This process continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of the product. The effects are shown to last more than a year, making it a very long lasting filler.
