When we first introduced Cosmelan to our office we were a little skeptical. Most treatments claim to improve Melasma but provide an underwhelming result.

I have been in aesthetics for 18 years and I finally have a solution for Melasma and other types skin discoloration. I am blown away with how effective it is!

What is Cosmelan?

Cosmelan is non-inflammatory depigmentation treatment that does not altar the pH of the skin, making it safe for all skin types. The multi ingredient peel works by decreasing the skin’s melanin production by inhibiting the release of the tyrosinase enzyme. It’s basically getting to
the root of the problem. It accelerates cell turnover, lifts pigment and softens texture and tone.

What’s the process?

Avoid direct sun exposure and discontinue active products two weeks prior to Cosmelan. I also do a lactic acid peel two weeks prior to prepare the skin and boost hydration. It is important to have the treatment done in the morning because the peel needs to stay on for 6-10 hours. Once the peel has been on for the appropriate time, it’s washed off and the Cosmelan journey begins.

What is the downtime?

Patients experience redness and flaking for about two weeks. Using the provided post care products is crucial in achieving a great treatment outcome.

When will I notice improvement?

Patients can see improvement in 2 weeks, peak results can vary.

How many will I need?

It depends on the severity of hyperpigmentation pre treatment and how well you take care of your skin post treatment. Melasma is a chronic condition and we can suppress it but it will never go away. I suggest at least 2 treatments per year for optimal results.
